The museum of the fan (Paris)

 

On left, a splendid part carried out by Edwige Renaudin (specialist in frivolity), it took approximately 600 working hours to carry out this fan. Mounting is out of wood of drowning, it took 67 hours for Sylvain Leguen to make it. Then, the assembly of mounting and the sheet still have necessity more than 120 hours! On right-hand side, some samples of what you will be able to admire: application to the Brussels needle of second half of 19th, lace duchess, spindles and needle lace, of the end of 19th, a pretty pink 'Torchon" as well as an application gilded on tulle bottom are on this convenient.

On left,  "Venice", needle-point lace (env 1895-1900) on a mounting in fair scale (France). On right-hand side, a curiosity: lace palmettes (1890-1895, France). They are lace sheets on silk, on a mounting in bone. It is a fan of theatre. Just like for the handkerchief, there is a fan for each occasion:  some are the events of the everyday life, it exists a fan adapted to this evemenent, birth, mourning, marriage with the monograms of the grooms...
