Couvige of Puy in Velay (October 2002)

The area of Puy-in-Velay, starting point of one of the four European main roads for Saint Jacques de Compostelle, since strong a long time is recognized like centers significant manufacture of laces to the hand.
In 1931, the Civil Court of Puy-in-Velay judge that name "Lace of Puy" is exclusively reserved for the lace hand made using spindles handled by the lacemaker.
The fame of this city is related to the lace whose gestures and technique were preserved thanks to the creation of a National Conservatory Workshop.

This year, Large Couvige took place within a pastoral framework "the Mill of Barette" located at a few minutes of Puy-in-Velay, on the edges of Dolaizon.
